Small Group Leaders ‘Hothouse’ Group

I am looking for anyone who has ever thought, ‘Maybe I could (or should!) lead a small group one day’. Now is the time to put those thoughts into action, get equipped, and step up to lead!
I would like to do small group with you next year for the first half of the year, my place, Tuesday nights. Here’s some further details about this ‘Leader’s Hothouse’ group’:
Objective
To provide a small group where potential small group leaders can observe, reflect on and participate in small group leadership, so that at the end of the group, members are ready to lead a new small group (beginning July 2010).
What we will do
Meet and do small group together. Participate in a small group that practices the 5 DNA elements of St Paul’s small groups: bible study, prayer, community, care, and growth.
We will experience and reflect on the process of starting up a small group.
In first term 2010, we will do the common parish Bible studies on Isaiah, in conjunction with the preaching series.
In second term , we will study 2 Timothy, as it speaks to the qualities of a leader in a church.
All group members will take their turn to lead the group as a training experience, and given feedback by Keith. Guidance and assistance will be available in preparing to lead.
We will then experience and reflect on the closing of a group.
Ideally, I would love for those who have been a part of this group to take the experience straight into leading a group of their own at the beginning of Term 3 (July 2010). The expectation would be that you begin this group with that goal in mind, and move on to do that unless you had become convicted throughout your time in this group that small group leadership was not for you.
Maximum group size = 12.
The goal would be to repeat this group in terms 3 & 4 2010.
