Last Saturday 100 of us were treated. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast served up by some servant hearted small group members (thanks again to all of you!). We enjoyed fellowship round the tables as we ate and sipped Mallacci’s coffee.
But the real highlight was to hear from Dr Paul Barnett. We were blessed as Paul shared with us about his conversion, about the joys and struggles of his 50 year walk with the Lord. He then turned on the tap of his prodigious learning and humble scholarship as heĀ told us all about James; how significant he was as a leader of the early church, how much of the letter relates to teachings of Jesus found in Matthew’s gospel, and how the major theme of ‘doing, not just believing’ dealt with a distorted form of Paul’s preaching. A real highlight was the Q & A from the floor, and watching Paul reel off incredible facts about the world James was writing in off the top of his head.

It was a feast indeed, and a great blessing. You can hear Paul’s talk on our website here, or through our podcast. Stay tuned right here for some of the Q & A from that morning.
