Recharge Breakfast on Isaiah

Keith interviewing Andrew

Keith interviewing Andrew

Last Saturday, a crowd of 120 people gathered in the CEC to enjoy a feast. The group, made up of small group leaders and other keen-beans enjoyed a feast of bacon, eggs, pancakes, fruit, tea and coffee, willingly served up by one of our gracious small groups (thanks guys – you know who you are!). But more importantly, we all enjoyed the  feast of God’s word from the prophet Isaiah, served hot to us by Moore College lecturer, Andrew Shead. Andrew is the  Head of the Old Testament Department at Moore College, and shared with us his love of these ancient but ever-present words, and the way they paint the gospel for us slowly and in rich colours. We all got a taste for the bigger feast that is to come, as we spend the next 9 weeks looking at what God has for us in this wonderful, contemporary, hard-hitting and yet comforting book.

Trevor Hodge – Bring You Praise

Album cover small

Thanks to Trevor Hodge and Band for helping us to kick off our Isaiah Series – Thy Kingdom Come.  Trev, Murray, Adam, Dave, Georg and Ludo served with skill and servants hearts and God was honoured.

For copies of Trevor’s latest album, Bring Him Praise (and other resources such as FREE charts, tips and videos), check out:

The preaching was also inspirational.  John Gray and Marty Kemp shared the Word with us clearly and passionately and I have no doubt this is a another series that will challenge each and every one of us in a most profound way.

He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

(Micah 6:8)

DEEP IMPAKCT

rg_impact_narrowweb__300x438,0

Thanks to all the leaders who lead and served so faithfully at the recent ImpaKct Youth Camp.  About 200 teenagers had a fun packed week at Port Hacking and everyone seems to have come back pumped and ready to live the life that God commands of us.  Revelation was revealed to the young minds clearly and skilfully by Tim Hawkins (which is no mean feat), so that they might be equipped and encouraged until Christ’s return!

As a parent of 2 of those kids, I am so thankful to God for this ministry and truly appreciate the effort of Rod and Amy and the 100 plus others volunteers who taught and served our kids all week.  Creativity abounds through the efforts of our Rage & Praise Team (McWade and Claire rock) as biblical truths were also presented with passion via song, drama and dance.

Let’s pray that the Word of Christ will dwell in them richly, resulting in a DEEP and lasting IMPACT on the world that God has created.
