There’s not a man or woman without character. Everyone has character because everyone has been impacted by life. The word character comes to us from the world of coinage. When a coin is stamped it gains its character. When a human being is stamped by life s/he is marked by life. How we respond to the marks determines the quality of our character. Christ followers learn to look to Jesus Christ in any and all circumstances and so develop a godly character. As Jesus learned to depend on the Father during his earthly walk (eg Hebrews 5:8), so we need learn to depend on him.
