REACHING OUT INTO OUR COMMUNITY - BUILDING FOR GROWTH
We are delighted to announce that Parish Council has approved the building of our Foyer.
The current financial climate has created a rare window of opportunity to build our Foyer at a very attractive price, if we act quickly. This window is estimated to remain open to around the end of April, or until the building industry begins to accept demand from the Federal Stimulus Package.
The Foyer will provide great possibilities for our ministries who are building their relationships within our community, where they are engaging, inviting and evangelising.
We are seeing growth in ministries such as K’Splat, Crossfire and Axis; we have groups wanting to meet mid-week without rooms to accommodate them; our College of Ministry events are obtaining good participation; new events such as Prime Time are exceeding participant expectations and many visitors are being reached outside our congregations.
Our services are growing and for those who attended our recent Easter services, you would have seen the pressing need for additional seating, with some services having 6 rows deep on the paved area outside. Praise God it didn’t rain! These are just a few examples of where the Foyer would help fulfil our needs.
The key features of the model displayed in the Church are:
- improved and expanded child-friendly amenities for parents with small children
- a pre and post service welcoming and mingling area
- additional teaching and meeting areas
- seating overflow
- a wide covered and paved area providing much needed shelter and easier access to the CEC
Some elements will need to be added later as funds allow, such as air conditioning, an expanded sound system and new furniture (essentially new seats). In the meantime, we will utilise the CEC chairs.
How is this possible?
- we have $200,000 in cash right now with another $60,000 pledged and expected before mid July
- We can borrow without “head office" approval up to $260,000, and
- we have a healthy bank balance in our operating accounts - a short term advance of about $110,000 will probably be required.
Can the building be completed debt-free?
Yes it can - if each of us willingly undertakes to make an equal sacrifice (not equal giving). We need to raise an additional $260,000 to ensure we open the building debt-free.
Will you join us in stepping out in faith as we journey together? The completion of this project will help us reach more people and thereby bring glory to God.
In the pews we have placed yellow envelopes to allow you to donate where you can. All donations over $2 are tax deductable and any amount will be gratefully accepted. Click here if you would like to download the envelope information.
For each amount of $100.00 you will have the opportunity to write the name of a lost friend or relative on a paver. These will be laid face down around the foyer to remind us that every time we walk in our building we are praying for 5,000 people to enter the Kingdom of God.
Paver Day will be announced in the coming weeks once consultation with the builder identifies the timeframe when the pavers will be available on site.
We ask you to pray and seek God’s mind on what he would have you contribute.
