As announced in our Diocese’s monthly newspaper, Southern Cross, CONNECT 09 is a special opportunity for each parish to come together in 2009 in a united “campaign” to connect with people and build relationships that will, under God’s gracious hand and in his time, see people come to faith in Christ.

What a wonderful opportunity to be part of a concerted effort (with the our brothers and sisters in other Anglican churches from Ulladulla to the Hawkesbury, the Beaches to Lithgow) to make connections with people.

You may be asking ... what shape will CONNECT 09 take for us here at Castle Hill and Glenhaven?  Well, initially we are being asked to PRAY for those who live and work around us in our community ... that God will open up opportunities to connect with people we may not know (neighbours, local community, business, industry and work colleagues) and that those connections will lead to opportunities to share Christ.

Of course, making connections is what we are already doing through our various ministries.  What is different about CONNECT 09 is that it is a Diocese-wide “campaign” with the support of the Diocese, particularly with resources and with the media.

Over the coming weeks we will be asking you to focus your prayers ... at Church, in your small groups and in your personal devotions ... on those with whom you have contact but are not yet connected.  We are making a CONNECT 09 prayer card available to everyone to help us in our prayers and in connecting.
